neways i started work on wed. so just an update abt the new year. spent the 1st day of 2008 shopping for office shoes. finally found one which i thought was walkable but i was so wrong.
wed (1st day of work):
i got to pwc on too early. 740am when im supposed to report at 830 -_-" it was mainly intro on some software and some other stuff. vacation trainees (VTs) each got a laptop. but it was an old oily one =( had to take photos for the pass. VTs were the last. 7 A level graduates. supposed to be 8 but one didnt turn up. of the 8, 4 girls and 4 guys. 3 of the girls were from RJ, 1 of the guys from Rj and the other 2 from SA and AC. the guys completed NS already.
at around 4 we were shown our seats and had to parade around -_-" and the locking of laptops wasnt an easy task. julia (one of the managers) told us to find something to do till 530. so it was mainly slacking until knock off time and were told abt a meeting at 9 the nxt morning.
i like the pantry. it is so cool. nxt time i take pics and upload heh.
all the girls came in heels and went home with blisters.
thurs (2nd day of work):
i could barely walk in heels already.
i planned to go later but i saw the bus and i ran for it thinking i was late. when i got onto the bus and checked my phone it was only 7:11 -_-" reached there at around 740 again. went up and found that i couldnt open the door with my pass. the cleaning auntie said its not 8 yet so my pass cannot open the door. she let me in and i met shaun inside. he came at 7 O_O went to pantry to eat breakfast. neways had nothing to do and the paper i took downstairs was in chinese eew. shaun said the auntie told him nxt time off peak dont come so early! haha
later on we received news that the person we were supposed to meet at 9 will be late so meeting post-poned to 930. and so we chat and chat until 930. then at 930 she made us take down christmas deco O_O sheesh. then we slacked more. had lunch (prawn mee) together in the area and kept running into pwc staff. after lunch was more slacking and briefings and more intros to the same ppl. i cant remember the order of events but we had pantry meeting. all of us except paul (who was reading stuff on wiki) gathered in the pantry to eat and drink and chat.
then later on after being introduced to the seniors we were told to find work and pester them for work. each of us were assigned to 3 seniors. 1 of my seniors on leave. so i went to find the other 2: li wen and may. li wen gave me stuff to read and said she'll find stuff for me. then i went to find may and may said that she is quite free too. she said she'll find work tmr and then see if theres anything for me -_-"
at around 430 li wen gave me a sample of a letter and asked me to draft 2 others to IRAS. so that was my 1st piece of work =) the others had to OA (work organisation, which actually means doing anything thats unproductive or doing nothing at all).
fri (3rd day of work):
i wore flats.
i took 2 buses after the usual bus i took. and reached there at 8:02. still too early -_-" but neways li wen went through the work that i did and corrected it and left it on my table so i went to edit. gah didnt take note that for one of the person, the chargeable income i looked at was only for 9 months =X darren and shaun helped me to connect the printer so i could print the letters out. waited around for LW and May to come in. but 9+ they still not here so i went to find team leader, manager of team A, soi noi. and soi noi said she has no work for me too =( so i had to OA -_-" after my seniors came in i was loaded with loads of filing, photocopying and punch holing to do. had like 44 (from LW) +78 (from May) files to complete. must put in authorisation list, check if RAIT is in and check whether meeting is done. gah. luckily paul to help me out with stapling and stuff. coz his seniors were all on leave. the rest OA-ed on pwc's msn (sametime connect) haha.
had jap lunch. i shared with jx coz the portion was big. went back to work on the files. by 330 i completed LW's batch. pantry meeting was supposed to be at 4. but by 4pm, all the VTs' seniors dumped work on them so our pantry meeting was cancelled =( i worked on some of May's files. jx and paul came to help out. then by 5 i stopped filing le. coz iPower was up so we could key in whatever we did into our timesheet. LW and May saw that i was free and asked if i completed the rest yet. i said im saving it for next wk ;) coz at 5pm i already clocked 6.8 chargeable hrs. which was more than enough. so i decided to OA haha. neways my seniors will be late in the morning so must have work reserve heh.
nxt mon, tues and wed there will be 8X3=24 hrs of training. yuck. but actually work so far is quite ok.
